Lindy Hop on the Rock presents Jingle Bell Hop at Factory on December 9


Mark your calendars and save the date. Ring in the festive season with Lindy Hop on the Rock and dance the night away to a live jazz band. Formal wear encouraged.

We are excited to announce that we have assembled our very own jazz band for the evening comprised of Terry Campbell (trumpet), Josh Ward (bass), Daniel Neill (drums), Florian Hoefner (keyboard) and Chris Harnett (saxophone).

As always, BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME! We'll have an introductory lesson to kick off the night, where we'll teach you the very basics, with a few cool moves to keep you going for the evening.

NO PARTNER REQUIRED!!! Bring as many people as you want - we'll make sure you're dancing all night long regardless of whether you show up with ten people or solo.

PractiSwing - Friday 25th November

A chance to practice your swing dance in an informal environment. It's not a class or necessarily social dancing, but a comfortable in-between. You can work on the things you've already learned and want to improve, share some new moves, play!

We'll provide the space and the music, and there'll be at least one experienced dancer to host and answer questions.

For beginners, we have a half-hour beginner lesson promptly at the start. This class will be a standalone class, and will work for people totally new to Lindy Hop as well as those in a beginner class already.

Registration: 8:00pm - 8:20pm
Beginner A & B class: 8:20pm
Intermediate class: 6:50pm
Social dance: 9:20pm ($3 entry fee, free when you register)

PRICE
$40/6 weeks of class ($30 if you preregister.)

PAYMENT
Registration fees must be PAID IN FULL at the beginning of the FIRST CLASS of each new session of classes. A registration table will be present at front entrance of the Landing where you can confirm pre-registration and discounted payment, or register at the door.

PractiSwing - Halloween Edition - Friday 28th October

Celebrate Halloween with swing dancing! Dress up in a costume for the night and dance to some bootacular swing songs. Feel free to bring candy or anything goulish!

Come on down to Rocket Bakery every Tuesday evening in August for your chance to catch St. John's Swing dancers shake a leg. 

We'll be social dancing to big band jazz in the Orbit Room with a few instructors on hand for any patron interested in learning a few basics steps. Beginners are encouraged to come on out and ask us to dance!

LHotR goes to Corner Brook! - Saturday July 23rd

Lindy Hop on the Rock is hopping to the West Coast for a weekend! Come on out on Saturday, July 23rd for a jumpin’ afternoon of dancing and big band jazz!

Have you ever wanted to learn how to dance the Lindy Hop? Well, here’s your chance. Guest teacher Lauren Bilinsky is visiting from St. John's for this special session. With her local (dance) partner in crime, Candice Pike, they're ready to teach beginners everything they’ll need to be confident out on the social dance floor.

Hoppers of all dance experience welcome! You don't even need to bring a partner. A smile and a water bottle are all you need! 

This DJ'ed dance after the lesson is sure to have everybody hoppin’ and boppin' too. 

So what are you waiting for? Come on out to the Dance Studio West (51 West Street), you can swing it!
