Our next PractiSwing takes place on Friday June 10th at 19:30 in the MMaP Gallery, Arts and Culture Centre.

A chance to practice your Swing dance in an informal environment. It's not a class or necessarily social dancing, but a comfortable in-between. You can work on the things you've already learned and want to improve, share some new moves, play!

We'll provide the space and the music, and there'll be at least one experienced dancer to host and answer questions.

For beginners, we have a half-hour beginner lesson promptly at the start. This class will be a standalone class, and will work for people totally new to Lindy Hop as well as those in a beginner class already.

Frankie Manning's Birthday Dance Party! - May 27th

Celebrate Frankie Manning's birthday with a fun dance party on May 27th at the Arts and Culture Centre in the MMMap room. We will be playing Frankie's favourite songs and doing all of his choreographed dances. Dance the night away! There will be no beginner lesson at this event.

Hat Party! Wear a hat! 
There will be lots of vintage hats to try on! 
Dress in your favourite swing outfit (it can be vintage or your favourite shirt or anything you like!)

A new session of swing dance classes starts Tuesday, May 24th @ MUN at The Landing. Absolute beginners are welcome and there is NO PARTNER REQUIRED!**

Read: Please arrive 10 minutes early for registration on the first day of class!
Classes take place every TUESDAY for 6 consecutive weeks, from Tuesday May 24th to Tuesday June 28th. Each class is 70 minutes.
Registration: 8:00pm - 8:20pm
Beginner A & B class: 8:20pm
Intermediate class: 6:50pm
Social dance: 9:20pm ($3 entry fee, free when you register)

PRICE
$40/6 weeks of class ($30 if you preregister.)

PAYMENT
Registration fees must be PAID IN FULL at the beginning of the FIRST CLASS of each new session of classes. A registration table will be present at front entrance of the Landing where you can confirm pre-registration and discounted payment, or register at the door.

Swingin' On A Star Spring Formal Dance - April 8th

Join us for our Swingin' on a Star Spring Formal Dance. The evening will begin with a beginner lesson and then will feature some of the finest jazz musicians in St. John's inluding: Greg Bruce. Brian Way, Andrew McCarthy, Terry Campbell and Chris Davis. Formal attire is encouraged. Dress to impress.

We are turning three!

Come out and celebrate with us! We are going to have a blast dancing the night away. We will be having snacks, cake and lots of treats. If you feel like bringing a yummy treat, please do. The more treats the merrier. Feel free to bring a perishable food donation for the food bank. All for FREE!!

We have surveys for you all to fill out for the end of the term. We really appreciate your feedback and really do use it to improve and modify our program to better meet your needs. Christmas Dance - Puttin' On The Ritz - Friday 18th December

Mark your calendars and save the date. On Friday, December 18th at the Elk's Lodge get your Charleston on at our Puttin' on the Glitz event. Pull out your top hats, and fancy dresses and dance the night away. Formal attire and 1920s/1930s formal wear is encouraged. There will be a live jazz band for the evening!

We have assembled our very own jazz band for the evening comprised of Brian Way, Terry Campbell, Andrew McCarthy, Greg Bruce, and Chris Davis. 

$12 cover or $10 with a non-perishable FOOD ITEM for the local food bank. This is a 19+ event.

As always, BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME! We'll have an introductory lesson to kick off the night, where we'll teach you the very basics, with a few cool moves to keep you going for the evening.

NO PARTNER REQUIRED!!! Bring as many people as you want - we'll make sure you're dancing all night long regardless of whether you show up with ten people or solo.

9 pm: Beginner's 1920s Charleston lesson
10 pm: Open dancing with live music

New Venue and New Class Times

A new session of swing dance classes starts Tuesday, September 15 at Cochrane United Church.

Everyone is welcome to drop by our first lesson, absolute beginners are welcome and there is NO PARTNER REQUIRED!

**There are a few volunteer opportunities available in exchange for a free 6-week session (and the pleasure of getting more involved!).
